Cross bones follows the excellent series of
Kathy Reichs crime books featuring Dr Temperance Brennan. This book
however did not follow the usual track and if you were expecting more
of the same then you may be slightly surprised.
Cross Bones is written with Kathy Reichs
usual talent, detail and knowledge but it delves quite heavily into
religion and can therefore lose anyone not completely knowledgeable of
this subject. If religion is not 'your thing' then this book may not
be for you. Additionally the content may seem controversial for anyone
with very strong religious convictions and you might want to bear this
in mind when starting the book.
The book can test your attention and memory
with its almost continual mentions of dates and events which tend only
to slow down the plot but apart from this annoyance it is still well
written as you would expect from Kathy Reichs and the idea is
certainly thought provoking.
